Intern Architect
Hybrid (Remote first, with regular time time in Squamish and some travel required)
Full-time six-month contract, with the possibility of extension

McLintock Architecture is seeking an intern architect to join its practice. This entry-level position will support the firm’s projects across all phases by producing models and drawings, reviewing code, contributing to working drawings, and participating in meetings and site visits. 

The successful candidate should be motivated to work independently and remotely, but must have the capacity to travel to Squamish and other areas in the Sea-to-Sky Corridor, as well as Vancouver Island as required.

The intern architect must be an excellent communicator in all platforms and well versed in fabrication.

This position will report to Guy McLintock, Principal and founder.

Key responsibilities:

  • Produce presentation content, including drawings, renders and diagrams in Revit, Enscape and Adobe applications.

  • Assist with the production of presentations and participate in client meetings.

  • Physical production of concept, study and presentation models.

  • Assist with producing, organizing and maintaining drawing sets.

  • Assist with code and zoning analyses.

  • Assist with packaging of permit applications.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum three years of experience in a similar position preferred. Recent graduates or current students may be considered.

  • A Master of Architecture from an accredited Canadian institution or equivalent.

  • Proficient with production tools, especially Adobe Suite and Revit. 

  • Working knowledge of the British Columbia Building Code.

  • Hyper organized with detailed record keeping.

  • Excellent graphic standards and clear communication for all visual representations. 

  • Registered with AIBC or eligible to be registered in the province of British Columbia.

  • Working status in Canada.

Assets:

  • Proficiency in one or more of Rhino3D, AutoCad, Affinity Suite and Enscape.

  • Familiarity with local zoning by-laws in the Sea to Sky and Vancouver Island.

  • Access to a shop space.
